What the CEP Certifies
The Certificate of Embodied Production is the top-tier certification from the Musical Form Institute. It verifies that a recording was produced without grid correction, pitch correction, or generative AI.
MFI is an independent certification body for recorded music. We publish process-based standards and certify recordings that meet them, so labels, distributors, and listeners have a reliable way to know how a recording was actually made. Learn more about the Musical Form Institute.
CEP verifies three things: No grid correction. No pitch correction. No generative AI. Any track submitted for CEP is also reviewed for Certified Significant Form (CSF), our certification for recordings made without generative AI, at no additional cost.
